The Youth Japan 2026 Home Kit was created for Japan’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign and presents a modern interpretation of the national team’s famous deep-blue identity. The design is built around the theme “HORIZON”, representing Japan’s ambition to move beyond previous achievements and reach new heights on the world stage.

The jersey features a rich Japan Blue base with a flowing, wave-like graphic across the front. The lighter linear pattern is inspired by the visual meeting point between sky and sea on the horizon, producing a layered effect across the traditional blue background.

Rather than relying on an elaborate multicolour design, the home shirt uses different shades of blue together with contrasting white detailing to create a clean and recognisable Japanese identity. The horizon concept gives the shirt a direct connection to Japan’s 2026 World Cup generation while maintaining the blue colour traditionally associated with SAMURAI BLUE.

Season Information

Season/Year: 2026 National Team: Japan Country: Japan Competition: FIFA World Cup 2026 / International Matches Kit Type: Home Kit Category: Youth / Kids Design Theme: HORIZON

The 2026 Japan Home Kit was designed specifically around the national team’s journey onto football’s biggest stage. The Japanese Football Association describes the HORIZON concept as representing ambition, exploration and the desire to surpass what the team has achieved before. The flowing graphic therefore has a symbolic role rather than functioning simply as decoration.

Japan entered the 2026 cycle with a squad combining an established European-based core with a growing group of younger players. Current JFA selections continue to feature players including Takefusa Kubo, Ritsu Doan, Ayase Ueda, Daichi Kamada, Ao Tanaka, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Hiroki Ito, alongside emerging options being introduced into the senior national-team setup.

The shirt is especially significant as a World Cup design. Japan’s blue home identity has become one of the most recognisable national-team looks in Asian football, while the 2026 version deliberately connects that established tradition with the idea of looking toward the next horizon. The result is a shirt closely associated with the generation led technically by players such as Kubo, Doan and Kamada.

For player printing, the World Cup tournament numbers are the most appropriate combinations for this particular shirt rather than numbers used in later international windows, since national-team squad numbers can change between competitions.

Recommendation

KUBO 20

The leading choice for the 2026 Home Kit. Takefusa Kubo is one of Japan’s most technically gifted and internationally recognisable attacking players and a central figure of the current generation.

MITOMA 7

One of the most recognisable Japan attacking options. Kaoru Mitoma’s direct dribbling and wide attacking role make MITOMA 7 a particularly popular combination for the 2026 shirt.

UEDA 9

A classic striker option. Ayase Ueda is an established centre-forward for Japan, making UEDA 9 a natural choice for the World Cup home design.

DOAN 10

A strong attacking-midfield choice. Ritsu Doan has been an important member of Japan’s international side across multiple major tournaments and carries the traditional No.10.

MINAMINO 8

An established Japan option. Takumi Minamino brings extensive international experience and remains strongly associated with the modern SAMURAI BLUE generation.

KAMADA 15

A strong midfield alternative. Daichi Kamada provides creativity and tactical versatility and has been an important member of Japan’s European-based core.

TOMIYASU 3

The leading defensive option. Takehiro Tomiyasu is one of Japan’s most internationally established defenders and provides a strong alternative to the attacking-player choices.

ITO 21

A distinctive defensive choice. Hiroki Ito has become an established member of Japan’s back line and represents the current European-based generation.

KUBO 20 is the strongest player-printing option for the Youth Japan 2026 Home Kit.

Takefusa Kubo represents the technical and creative side of Japan’s current generation and remains part of the national-team setup following the 2026 World Cup. At 25 during the 2026 international cycle, he is positioned between Japan’s established senior players and the generation expected to carry SAMURAI BLUE forward. The JFA’s latest September 2026 squad continues to include him among Japan’s attacking players.

MITOMA 7 is an equally recognisable alternative for supporters who prefer a direct wide attacker, while UEDA 9 provides the classic centre-forward combination. DOAN 10 is particularly attractive for customers who prefer a traditional No.10 shirt.

For the HORIZON design, Kubo is especially fitting because the shirt’s central theme is about Japan looking beyond its previous achievements toward its next generation and future ambitions.
