Kazuyoshi Miura, affectionately known as King Kazu, became the league's first Most Valuable Player in 1993 after scoring 20 league goals. Legendary playmaker Ruy Ramos provided exceptional creativity and leadership, while Brazilian midfielder Bismarck added technical brilliance and attacking intelligence. Striker Nobuhiro Takeda was another important goalscorer, contributing 17 league goals in 1993 and an impressive 23 in 1994.
