The Sweden 1994 Home Retro Football Shirt recreates one of the most celebrated jerseys in Swedish football history, worn during the national team’s outstanding run to third place at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States. Sweden’s current retro release also identifies this design specifically with the unforgettable 1994 World Cup campaign.

The shirt features Sweden’s traditional bright yellow base, combined with bold blue geometric side panels and blue detailing around the collar and sleeves. A subtle tonal jacquard pattern runs through the yellow fabric, while the national-team crest is positioned centrally on the chest. The oversized geometric elements and relaxed silhouette give the shirt an unmistakable mid-1990s tournament appearance.

This jersey is closely associated with the celebrated 1994 generation featuring Tomas Brolin, Martin Dahlin, Kennet Andersson, Henrik Larsson, Jonas Thern, Stefan Schwarz and Roland Nilsson.

Season Information

Season/Year: 1994
National Team: Sweden
Country: Sweden
Competition: FIFA World Cup USA 1994
Kit Type: Home Jersey

Sweden entered the 1994 FIFA World Cup under head coach Tommy Svensson and went through the group stage undefeated. They drew 2–2 with Cameroon, defeated Russia 3–1, and then drew 1–1 with eventual world champions Brazil, progressing to the knockout stage.

Their run continued with a 3–1 victory over Saudi Arabia in the Round of 16. Sweden then faced Romania in a dramatic quarter-final, drawing 2–2 after extra time before winning the penalty shootout 5–4. That victory sent Sweden into their first World Cup semi-final since 1958.

Brazil narrowly defeated Sweden 1–0 in the semi-final, but the tournament ended on a spectacular high. Sweden beat Bulgaria 4–0 in the third-place match, with goals from Tomas Brolin, Håkan Mild, Henrik Larsson and Kennet Andersson, securing the bronze medal and completing one of the finest World Cup campaigns in Swedish history.

Sweden scored 15 goals across seven matches at USA ’94. Kennet Andersson led the team with five goals, while Martin Dahlin scored four and Tomas Brolin three. The tournament also introduced a young Henrik Larsson to the World Cup stage; he scored in the 4–0 third-place victory.

Unlike many club shirts from this era, the 1994 World Cup used fixed tournament squad numbers, making the principal player-printing combinations historically clear.

Printing Recommendation
BROLIN 11 The defining choice for this jersey. Tomas Brolin was one of Sweden’s biggest stars at USA ’94, scoring three goals and playing a central creative role throughout the run to third place.
K. ANDERSSON 19 The strongest goalscoring option. Kennet Andersson scored five goals at the tournament, including the late equaliser against Romania and a goal in the third-place victory over Bulgaria.
DAHLIN 10 A classic choice from Sweden’s outstanding attack. Martin Dahlin scored four World Cup goals, including two against Russia and the opening goal against Saudi Arabia in the Round of 16.
LARSSON 7 An especially iconic long-term choice. A young Henrik Larsson wore No.7 at his first World Cup and scored in Sweden’s 4–0 victory over Bulgaria to secure third place.
THERN 9 Captain Jonas Thern was the midfield leader of the team and wore No.9 during the tournament, making this one of the most representative choices from the 1994 squad.
SCHWARZ 6 A strong midfield option. Stefan Schwarz was an important starter during Sweden’s World Cup campaign and a key part of the team’s powerful midfield.
INGESSON 8 A highly representative tournament choice. Klas Ingesson was a regular in midfield throughout Sweden’s run and featured in the major knockout matches.
R. NILSSON 2 A classic defensive option. Roland Nilsson was Sweden’s established right-back and captained the side in the quarter-final against Romania and the third-place match against Bulgaria.

BROLIN 11 is the strongest overall printing for the Sweden 1994 Home Jersey.

Tomas Brolin scored three times during USA ’94: against Russia in the group stage, against Romania in the quarter-final and against Bulgaria in the third-place match. His quarter-final goal against Romania was particularly memorable, coming from a cleverly worked free-kick routine before Sweden eventually advanced on penalties.

The combination of the famous yellow 1994 shirt and BROLIN 11 has consequently become one of the most recognisable images of this Swedish generation. Surviving examples of the shirt also document the Brolin No.11 combination.

K. ANDERSSON 19 is the strongest alternative based specifically on tournament scoring performance, while DAHLIN 10 represents the other major member of Sweden’s attack. LARSSON 7 is particularly appealing for his wider career significance and because USA ’94 was his first World Cup.
