The South Africa 2002 Home Retro Football Jersey celebrates a landmark campaign in the history of Bafana Bafana at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan. Competing in their second consecutive World Cup, South Africa delivered competitive performances against Paraguay, Slovenia and Spain under head coach Jomo Sono. After opening with a 2–2 draw against Paraguay, the team secured its first-ever FIFA World Cup victory with a 1–0 win over Slovenia, before narrowly losing 3–2 to Spain. Nomvethe secured his place in South African football history by scoring the winning goal against Slovenia, and Fortune brought valuable experience from English football.
