The Manchester United 1998-00 Home Jersey is one of the most iconic shirts in the club’s history, forever associated with the legendary 1998/99 Treble-winning season.

The shirt features the club’s traditional deep red base, complemented by a distinctive white fold-over collar and black zip-neck opening. Black-and-white geometric detailing runs across the shoulders and sleeve trim, giving the jersey an unmistakable late-1990s appearance.

Used across both 1998/99 and 1999/00, the design witnessed one of the greatest periods in Manchester United history: the unprecedented Treble followed immediately by another dominant Premier League title-winning campaign.

Season Information

Season: 1998/99 – 1999/00
Club: Manchester United
Country: England
Competition: Premier League / FA Cup / League Cup / UEFA Champions League
Kit Type: Home Jersey

The 1998/99 season is one of the defining campaigns in English football history. Manchester United became the first English club to win the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in the same season, completing the historic Treble under Sir Alex Ferguson.

The squad featured an extraordinary combination of academy-developed players and established internationals. David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane and Gary Neville formed the core of the side, while the attacking partnership of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole became one of the most feared in Europe.

United's season culminated in the dramatic 1999 UEFA Champions League Final, completing the Treble with one of the most famous late comebacks in European football history.

The same home design carried over into 1999/00, when United successfully defended their Premier League crown. Players such as Beckham, Keane, Giggs, Scholes, Cole and Yorke remained central to the side, giving this shirt a strong association with two consecutive championship seasons.

Rec. Player Printing Options

Printing Recommendation
BECKHAM 7 One of the defining Manchester United players of the era. Beckham’s No.7 is arguably the most recognisable printing associated with the 1998/99 Treble team and is the strongest overall choice.
GIGGS 11 Legendary academy graduate and one-club icon. His extraordinary FA Cup semi-final goal against Arsenal is one of the defining moments of the Treble season.
KEANE 16 Club captain and midfield leader. Keane’s performance against Juventus in the Champions League semi-final remains one of the most celebrated individual displays in United history.
SCHOLES 18 Academy graduate and one of the outstanding midfielders of his generation. No.18 became inseparable from Scholes during Manchester United’s most successful era.
YORKE 19 Leading scorer during the Treble season and a crucial part of the famous Yorke-Cole partnership. One of the most season-specific choices for this jersey.
COLE 9 Prolific striker whose partnership with Yorke powered United through the 1998/99 campaign. He also scored the goal against Tottenham that secured the Premier League title.
SOLSKJAER 20 Forever associated with the winning goal in the 1999 Champions League Final. No.20 is one of the most historically meaningful printing options for this shirt.
G. NEVILLE 2 Academy graduate and established right-back who became one of the most decorated players in Manchester United history.
STAM 6 Dominant Dutch centre-back and a central figure in the Treble-winning defence. A particularly strong defensive printing option.
IRWIN 3 Long-serving full-back and one of the most dependable members of Ferguson’s great United sides.

BECKHAM 7 is the strongest overall recommendation for the Manchester United 1998-00 Home Jersey.

David Beckham was at the peak of his Manchester United career during this period and played an essential role in the 1998/99 Treble. His crossing, passing and set-piece ability made him one of the most recognisable players in world football, while the No.7 shirt connected him with one of Manchester United’s most prestigious numbers.

For this particular retro jersey, there are several exceptionally strong alternatives. KEANE 16 represents the captain, YORKE 19 is particularly specific to the Treble campaign, while SOLSKJAER 20 has perhaps the strongest connection to the dramatic conclusion of the 1999 Champions League Final.
