The Italy 2000 Home Jersey is one of the most distinctive Azzurri shirts of the modern era, remembered above all for Italy’s dramatic run to the UEFA Euro 2000 Final.
The design takes an unusually minimalist approach, built around a clean Azzurri blue base with a streamlined, close-fitting silhouette and very little visual interruption across the body. Italy entered UEFA Euro 2000 under Dino Zoff and produced one of the national team’s most memorable European Championship campaigns. The Azzurri won all three group matches before defeating Romania 2–0 in the quarter-final, with Francesco Totti and Filippo Inzaghi scoring.
The semi-final against co-hosts the Netherlands became a classic Italian defensive performance. Reduced to ten men during the first half, Italy survived two penalties during normal time and eventually won the shootout 3–1. Francesco Toldo produced an extraordinary performance, while Totti memorably converted his penalty during the shootout.
Italy then faced reigning world champions France in the final in Rotterdam. Marco Delvecchio put Italy 1–0 ahead in the 55th minute and the Azzurri remained in front until stoppage time. Sylvain Wiltord equalised at 90+4 before David Trezeguet scored the golden goal in extra time, giving France a 2–1 victory.
Despite the painful finish, Euro 2000 became a defining tournament for Totti, while captain Maldini led an exceptional defensive unit featuring Cannavaro and Nesta. Toldo’s performances after entering the tournament as the replacement goalkeeper were another major part of Italy’s run to the final.
