Worn by the Rest of World selection in Marseille on 4 December 1997, this rare long-sleeve shirt is associated with an extraordinary team featuring Ronaldo, Gabriel Batistuta, Hidetoshi Nakata, Hong Myung-bo, Noureddine Naybet and Anthony de Ávila.
Captained by Ronaldo, the FIFA World XI faced a European selection led by Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo and Batistuta both scored twice, with De Ávila adding another as the World XI claimed an emphatic 5–2 victory at the Stade Vélodrome.
A rare piece of late-1990s football history, this shirt represents a remarkable one-off gathering of international stars ahead of the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
