The Croatia 2026-27 Home Football Shirt introduces a completely new chapter in the national team’s visual history. Unveiled on 15 September 2026, it is the first Croatia Home match shirt produced under the Croatian Football Federation’s new long-term partnership with adidas.
The design retains Croatia’s unmistakable red-and-white checkerboard, but gives the pattern a major cultural update. For the first time, Glagolitic characters are integrated directly into the checks. Glagolitic is the oldest known Slavic alphabet and has an important place in Croatian cultural history, giving the familiar football pattern a distinctly national historical reference.
The collar and sleeve detailing combine red, white and blue, echoing the colours of the Croatian flag. Another special feature appears beneath the back neckline, where Croatia is written in Glagolitic script, continuing the cultural theme beyond the main checkerboard graphic.
The shirt is officially listed by the Croatian Football Federation as the 26/27 Home jersey, rather than simply a 2026 World Cup shirt. It forms part of the first complete match collection of Croatia’s new era and will be used beginning with the post-World Cup international cycle.

The 2026/27 season represents a genuine change of era for Croatian football. Croatia’s previous technical partnership concluded in summer 2026, with the new partnership beginning in August. The first bespoke Home and Away match shirts were then officially presented on 15 September 2026.
Rather than radically replacing Croatia’s traditional identity, the new Home shirt preserves the famous šahovnica-style red-and-white checks and adds cultural detail within them. HNS describes the Glagolitic alphabet as an important symbol of Croatian heritage, with individual characters woven throughout the checkerboard.
This is important because Croatia’s checkerboard has become one of the most instantly recognisable national-team identities in international football. The 2026/27 version therefore combines two Croatian symbols—the football team’s famous checks and the country’s historic Glagolitic writing tradition—rather than replacing the classic appearance with an entirely new graphic.
The timing of the release also distinguishes this shirt from Croatia’s earlier 2026 World Cup Home shirt. Croatia wore the previous kit during the FIFA World Cup in June and July 2026; the new 2026/27 collection was launched afterward. HNS confirms that the men’s national team will debut the new shirts during its upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
The first-team generation entering the new kit cycle continues to include some of the most important names in modern Croatian football. Croatia’s officially registered 2026 World Cup squad included captain Luka Modrić (10), Mateo Kovačić (8), Andrej Kramarić (9), Joško Gvardiol (4) and Ivan Perišić (14), alongside younger players such as Martin Baturina, Petar Sučić, Luka Sučić and Luka Vušković.
One distinction is important for printing: those numbers are confirmed 2026 World Cup squad numbers, not a guarantee that every player will retain the same number throughout the entire 2026/27 Nations League cycle. National-team numbering can change between international windows, so the combinations below use the most recently officially confirmed Croatia numbers available.
Rec. Player Printing Options
| Printing | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| MODRIĆ 10 | The strongest heritage choice. Luka Modrić captained Croatia and wore No.10 at the 2026 World Cup, continuing the number most closely associated with his extraordinary international career. |
| GVARDIOL 4 | A leading new-generation choice. Joško Gvardiol wore No.4 and is one of the principal players bridging Croatia’s established generation and its future team. |
| KOVAČIĆ 8 | A classic midfield option. Mateo Kovačić wore No.8 and entered the 2026 World Cup with more than 100 senior appearances for Croatia. |
| KRAMARIĆ 9 | The strongest established attacking option. Andrej Kramarić wore No.9 and entered the 2026 tournament as one of Croatia’s most experienced international goalscorers. |
| PERIŠIĆ 14 | An iconic modern-Croatia choice. Ivan Perišić wore No.14 and remains strongly associated with Croatia’s major tournament successes of the modern era. |
| P. SUČIĆ 17 | A strong next-generation option. Petar Sučić wore No.17 at the 2026 World Cup and represents the younger midfield generation moving into a larger national-team role. |
| BATURINA 16 | An excellent young-player option. Martin Baturina wore No.16 in Croatia’s official 2026 World Cup squad and is part of the emerging creative midfield group. |
| L. SUČIĆ 21 | Another strong new-generation choice. Luka Sučić wore No.21 and offers a printing closely associated with Croatia’s transition toward its next midfield generation. |
| VUŠKOVIĆ 22 | A distinctive future-generation option. Luka Vušković wore No.22 after reaching the senior Croatia setup at a very young age, making it an interesting choice for the beginning of this new kit era. |
MODRIĆ 10 remains the most historically significant printing for the Croatia 2026-27 Home Football Shirt.
Luka Modrić was officially registered as Croatia’s captain and No.10 for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, continuing one of the most recognisable player-number combinations in the history of the Croatian national team.
There is an additional historical appeal with this particular shirt. The 2026/27 Home represents the beginning of Croatia’s new adidas era, while Modrić provides the strongest connection to the generation that took Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final, third place at the 2022 World Cup and further success in European competition.
For a printing focused on the team’s next generation, GVARDIOL 4 is especially relevant. P. SUČIĆ 17, BATURINA 16 and VUŠKOVIĆ 22 provide more distinctive options connected with the younger group expected to become increasingly important during Croatia’s new 2026/27 cycle.
