The Chelsea 2026/27 Home Jersey celebrates 75 seasons since Ted Drake transformed Chelsea’s identity, introducing the lion symbol that became one of the defining elements of the club.
The shirt features Chelsea’s traditional Bright Blue base with an unusual tonal treatment: the refreshed club crest is interwoven repeatedly into the fabric, creating a subtle two-tone pattern across the front. A classic collar and button-down neckline give the jersey a more traditional silhouette, while Midwest Gold is used for the standalone rampant lion and contrasting detailing.
The design connects directly to 1951, when Ted Drake arrived as manager, moved Chelsea away from the old “Pensioners” identity and helped establish the lion as a central part of the club’s visual identity. He later led Chelsea to their first English league championship in 1954/55.
