The Ajax Amsterdam 2025 125th Anniversary Retro Football Shirt celebrates 125 years of one of European football’s most historic clubs. Founded on 18 March 1900, Ajax marked the milestone with a special anniversary kit worn by the men’s first team during the Eredivisie match against AZ at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on 16 March 2025. The commemorative match finished 2–2, with Anton Gaaei and Oliver Edvardsen scoring for Ajax.
The anniversary shirt connects the club’s modern generation with more than a century of Amsterdam football history. Players including Kenneth Taylor, Jorrel Hato, Brian Brobbey, Mika Godts and captain Jordan Henderson wore the special kit against AZ, while its number-only printing added to the deliberately traditional appearance.
The shirt is instantly recognisable for its heritage-inspired white-red-white design, based on a team photograph from 10 September 1911 believed to show the earliest known Ajax side wearing the now-iconic colour arrangement. Long white sleeves and a classic buttoned collar reinforce the early-20th-century influence, while the Amsterdam flag provides one of the shirt’s most distinctive historical details. Subtle tone-on-tone sponsorship within the central red panel keeps modern branding understated, allowing the traditional red-and-white identity to dominate the design.

Second Choice: 4 (Jorrel Hato)
Historical Printing Note: Player names in brackets are for identification only. For an authentic match-style reproduction, print the number only, without the player name.
We recommend No. 8 (Kenneth Taylor) as the standout printing choice for the Ajax Amsterdam 125th Anniversary Retro Football Shirt. An Ajax academy graduate and an important member of the 2024–25 side, Taylor was one of the players selected to showcase the anniversary shirt and started the club’s official 125th anniversary match against AZ at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. His connection to Ajax’s youth tradition makes No. 8 a particularly fitting choice for a shirt created to celebrate the club’s history and identity.
Our second recommendation is No. 4 (Jorrel Hato). Another product of the Ajax academy, Hato represented the new generation of home-grown talent during the club’s 125th year and also featured prominently in the anniversary shirt launch. For an authentic match-inspired finish, we recommend using the number only, without a player name.
