The A.S. Roma 2000-01 Home L/S Retro Football Shirt recreates one of the most important jerseys in the club’s history — the deep Giallorossi red home shirt worn during Roma’s 2000/01 Serie A championship season.

The 2000/01 season remains one of the defining campaigns in Roma history. Fabio Capello entered the season with an already talented squad strengthened by the major arrival of Gabriel Batistuta, joining an attacking group that included captain Francesco Totti, Vincenzo Montella and Marco Delvecchio.
The combination proved decisive. Roma finished Serie A with 75 points, two ahead of Juventus and six ahead of Lazio, recording 22 victories, nine draws and only three defeats. They were also unbeaten at the Stadio Olimpico throughout the league campaign.
Batistuta made an immediate impact in his first season in Rome. The Argentine scored 20 Serie A goals, finishing as Roma’s leading league scorer, while Totti and Montella each contributed 13. Totti wore the captain’s armband in 30 of Roma’s 34 league matches and was the creative symbol of Capello’s championship side.
The squad was exceptional throughout the pitch. Cafu and Vincent Candela operated as attacking wing-backs, Damiano Tommasi and Emerson provided the midfield foundation, while Walter Samuel became a key figure in a three-man defence. Capello regularly deployed a 3-4-1-2, with Totti operating behind two forwards.
Roma entered the final league match against Parma on 17 June 2001 knowing victory would guarantee the title. In front of a packed Stadio Olimpico, Roma won 3–1, with Totti, Montella and Batistuta all scoring. The victory secured the club’s third Italian championship, following the titles of 1941/42 and 1982/83.
The season is also notable for one of Serie A’s most famous shirt-number stories. Batistuta had been synonymous with No.9 before arriving in Rome, but Vincenzo Montella already held the number and retained it. Totti even offered to relinquish his No.10, but Batistuta instead selected No.18. He then scored 20 league goals wearing it as Roma won the championship.
Roma’s own historical records list the championship squad as including Totti, Batistuta, Montella, Delvecchio, Cafu, Candela, Samuel, Aldair, Zago, Zebina, Emerson, Tommasi, Nakata and others under Capello.
